from “What's The Point In Running If God Is Everywhere?

And the psalmist says there isn't. Even if I go into the depths, you're there. Even darkness, if you show up, it just becomes light. There's nowhere I can't go that his presence hasn't already gone. So what's the point in trying to run if his presence goes with me? As I was reading this passage, I don't know why, I think it was the Holy Spirit, but it brought to mind a memory of a woman I already mentioned, a woman named Hagar. Her story in Genesis is so powerful. Hagar was Abraham's Egyptian slave. In Egyptian, she's outside of the covenant. And Abraham and his wife Sarah really mistreated her. And there's a moment in the scriptures where she starts running to escape her situation. See, sometimes we're hiding from the things that we've done. Other times we're running because of the things that have been done to us.
